Sunday Thoughts #4

Sunday 31 August 2014

So today is the 31st of August and it’s crazy how long I’ve been finished high school. I have been off since the beginning of June. Now on Tuesday I’m starting college. It’s so weird to think that not too long ago I was just planning all of this out and figuring out what I wanted to do when I finished school. Was I going to stay at my schools sixth form, go to College or go to the Sixth form College (I decided to do the last option.) it’s so weird to think about how much has happened over the summer and how much I’ve achieved this year already.

Tomorrow I am going into town to finish getting a few bits and pieces that I need for college and then Tuesday will be my first day. Of course I’m nervous and well I’m pretty terrified but at the same time I’m excited, it’s defiantly going to be very different and it’s going to take some time to get used to but I think over all I’m going to meet some new people, make new friends and create some good memories (hopefully.)

Moving away from School my mum came back off her holiday and I survived a week of making my own meals and looking after the house and cats, which I'm pretty proud of  and from her being away it’s definitely gave me an insight into what it’s like to live alone as my dad was working late and it was weird having the house to myself and it was a lot of work to keep it tidy and to make sure I did things such as dishes, washing and to look after the cats and make sure they had stuff such as food and water My mum did bring  back some Revlon make up for me which I can't wait to use and am happy I got, especially since I have been looking after the cats. I’ve also decided that I want to re-decorate my room up. Also deciding that I want my TV and docking station mounted on the wall so I can get rid of my TV stand and get a new desk. I also want to change the colour scheme to Grey and white (I’m in love with anything grey at the moment.)

May I just add if anyone watches Pretty Little Liars how good was this week’s episode. I can’t believe what happened. I’ve been hooked on this show ever since I started watching it in 2012 but this week’s episode was just amazing, so much happened and some things got reviled.

I think this is everything I wanted to talk about, I don’t think I have anything else to say without repeating or rambling on so I’m going to leave it at that and I want to wish people a good luck for if your starting a new school, college or uni and I hope you have a good school year.

Update: New SkinCare Routine

Friday 29 August 2014

So the last time I did a skincare routine post was back in April and since then the products I have used have changed. I also since finishing school I have a new routine with my skincare, so I thought I’d share.

So in the morning I start with cleansing with my Neutragena visibly clear pink grapefruit gel wash. If you read my other skincare post you’ll know that I used this after I removed my make up but now I use this in the morning. So I just put the gel on my face and lather it up. I then remove it with warm water and a flannel until it’s all off.

I then move on to use a moisturiser and this I often change up but at the moment I either use my Nivea Pure & Natural Day cream or I use my sample of Lush Imperialis moisturiser. They’re both quite opposites for moisturisers. The lush one is very fine and light. The Nivea one is quite thick and it feels much more heavier and I find that it takes a while to dry in compared to the Lush Imperalis, and the imperalis I find makes a nice base for makeup.

So that’s my morning skincare routine. So once I get home and it comes to removing my makeup I start with the Lush Ultrabland cleanser, I’ve been raving on about this for a while now and I still love it, I think it’s the best make up remover/ cleanser I’ve used, if you want you can check out my full review here.

Since that is a make up remover and a face cleanser I don’t do anymore cleansing but I do use TCP or Quinoderm 10 for any spots. I have but I don’t always use the Quinoderm because I find it dries out my skin and it leaves dry patches and can sometimes irritate my skin so I save that for the type of spots that are big and hurt and you can’t seem to get rid of.

To end my skin routine before I go to bed I will once again use one of my moisturisers which is usually my Nivea pure & Natural Day cream. I know it’s a day cream but since it’s thick and quite rich for my skin it’s better as a night cream.

So this is my updated skin routine, What are the products you use when it comes to looking after your skin?

Mini Beauty And Sale Fashion Haul

Wednesday 27 August 2014

So I once again have been spending more money! With the sales on at the moment I’ve been picking up loads of clothes trying to pick out new clothes so I have plenty of outfits for when I start college in September.

So this week I bought these two Maybelline Baby lips. The one on the left is the baby lips intense care whilst the one on the right is baby lips hydrate. i love the baby lips range, but i especially love these two, i love the packaging and i love how hydrated my lips feel with these. i've tried many lip balms and for a product i use every day i don't want to be spending more than a couple of pound on. So i think if your on a budget and want a decent lip balm these are the ones to go for as they're very hydrating, but the downside is they claim to last up to 8 hours but from my experience they only last for about two hours maximum.

I also picked up three beanies from Newlook one red, grey and burgundy these were in the sale and cost only 50p each. I'm in the stage now where i'm getting excited for Autumn and i can't wait to wear darker colours and jumpers and start lighting candles again. so i picked up these three beanies as i love beanies in the winter, they're such a simple accessory to add to any outfit.

Also from Newlook I picked up this three quarter sleeve grey top with an A on the left side for £5. i love this style top for the time where it starts getting cooler, but it's not cold enough to wear long sleeves and it's still slightly warm and i think this will be a nice top for college, just a nice slouchy top which will be comfortable and will go with near enough everything.

so here's a few of the things i picked up the other week (i'm sorry if these posts on a wednesday don't seem that good i'm a little low on inspiration for fashion posts.)

Music Monday #4

Monday 25 August 2014

These weeks seem to be flying over and this week i have three songs that i have been listening to and that i'm hooked on. i couldn't decide which was my favourite so here are the songs that have been on repeat all week.

Fall Out Boy- Bang The Doldrums

Panic At The Disco- Can't Fight Against The Youth

And the final song that's been on repeat is Kongos- Come With Me

So these are the songs i've recently found and i know for example the Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco songs aren't new but i'm still trying to discover new music to listen to and new bands or artists i've never listened to, so i hope this post might have helped you discover a song you might like or a new artist to listen to.

Sunday Thoughts #3

Sunday 24 August 2014

Today’s thoughts are pretty much all over the place. So much has happened this week and it’s been hard to comprehend what has happened, So I’m going to start off with what happened on Thursday as that has been my biggest day of the week.

So on Thursday I got my GCSE results back. I was beyond terrified to open them and I honestly can’t believe how worked up I was to get a piece of paper with grades on as I know if you don’t get C’s or above it’s not the end of the world, but I think it was the fact that I wanted to go to college so I was doubting my grades and trying to add more worries to the list, but over all I got 7 C’s, 1D and 1E so I’d say that’s quiet a success (apart from failing Maths and History.) but yeah I know those grades may look rubbish as I got nothing higher than a C but I can’t help that all the exams I took were foundation so I couldn’t get higher than a C even if I wanted to.

Anyway I later on had to head up to the college and enrol which Is now done and I can successfully say September 2nd I am heading off to a Sixth Form College to do year 12 & 13 where I’ll be taking English Language, English Literature, Media and a Enrichment course which is Astrology (all I know is it’s to do with the Zodiac signs.)

I’m pretty nervous to start college as for one I have a long journey everyday, I have to get a lift to a metro station and get a metro to a station then walk the rest of the way (it’s only a 10 minute walk from the station.) so over all it’s about an hour journey. I’m also worried about meeting new people and having a fresh start I guess, but I have a feeling it’ll be a good two years.

I also went into Mac on Thursday and I gained some courage to buy myself something from their which cost me a total of £28 (but hey I was in a very good mood from getting my results so I treated my self.) which also meant I had to talk to a worker there and she actually did the lipstick on me and I instantly fell in love with the colour (lady danger) and with this she used a lip liner in the colour cherry. I will write more of this on another post.

Also because I got into College my dad bought me an Ipad Mini in silver. Which I’m so happy about. (I’m not trying to brag I’m just excited.) I was given it as I got good grades and got into college, which was the deal, my dad and I had.

So this has been a bit of a summery over my week as well as some of my thoughts, this week has been quite a busy week and has also been quite mentally/ physically draining due to getting my results and getting into college as I honestly thought I would have failed a lot more than I did and on Thursday I had built my nerves up and managed to make myself sick by over thinking, but now that’s behind me and now I just have to start thinking about college and preparing for it.

Remington silk curling wand review

Friday 22 August 2014

So if you guys know my birthday was at the beginning of July and I’m one of those people who always stick to one hairstyle, I don’t have the patience to sit for an hour and do some amazing style. So I usually stick to the simple style of straightening. It’s quick and easy and it’s effortless, but for my birthday I decided I wanted to venture out and try something new so I asked for a curling wand and this is the one I ended up getting The Remington Silk Curling wand.

I’ve used this a few times and I love it. The wand it’s self is simple like every other Curling wand around. You can adjust the temperature; it has a 60-minute auto turn off thing so if you accidentally leave it on it’ll shut off. It also has a temperature lock so when you have it on the temperature you want you can lock it so you don’t knock the buttons whilst using it, which I often do.

Styling with the actual wand is very easy you just pick up a section of hair wrap it around the barrel and I hold it for 20 seconds and it’s perfect loose curls. It’s pretty effortless which for one I didn’t expect since I’m new to curling my hair and after how long my friends spend on it I found it takes me half an hour to do my hair with.

I absolutely love this curling want and I’m so happy this I the one I decided to go with as it’s so simple to use and with the finishing result. I’m very pleased with it, this curling wand is great for beginners or for anyone really and it isn’t badly priced either I think my mum paid about £30 for mine from boots.

i'm sorry if this was a short post, but i've been busy over the last few days and i haven't had time to sit and do a longer post so i used this one which was a draft from a few weeks ago
