My SkinCare Routine

Saturday 26 April 2014

Hey everyone so today I’m going to do a post on my skin care routine/ the products I use, so to start off with I'll start with taking my makeup off.

To start with I use the L’Oreal skin perfection Micellar water (boots 2.99, it’s on special at the moment.) so I usually pour a little bit of the solution onto a small cotton pad and wipe around my face to remove my foundation, I usually use both sides to remove my foundation and get a clean one to take off my eye makeup (one side per eye).  My alternative to this is I use my Simple face cleansing wipes (Superdrug 1.49 also on special) I use these when I'm feeling really tired and can't be bothered to use the liquid cleanser to remove my make up, since it’s much quicker and easier.

After I remove my make up I then move on to use my Neutrogena Visibly Clear pink grapefruit gel wash (Superdrug 4.89) I usually use a flannel and quickly wash over my face with the cloth with warm water, then I put one pump of the gel wash onto my hands and spread that on my face and rub it in until it becomes slightly foamy. I then move on to wash this off with the flannel and warm water. Once it’s all rinsed off I pat dry my face.

Some days usually twice a wake I change my routine up a little bit and Instead of using my Neutrogena gel wash I use the Neutrogena Visibly 2in1 Face Wash Mask (Superdrug £4) one of these two days I use it as the wash, but the other day (usually a Friday) I’ll use it as the mask. To use it as the wash I do the exact same routine as I would with the Neutrogena gel. But to use the mask I just apply it straight on and leave it for about 10-15 minutes and then wash it off. Compared to the gel wash this helps more when you have more spots, it reduces them quicker whether you use it as the mask or the wash it helps and the mask does make a difference in your skin you can both see it and feel it.

That’s usually all I do until I go to bed, just before I go to bed I use a little bit of TCP which is a antiseptic, and put this on a cotton ball/pad and wash over any spots or blemishes. Basically all this does for my skin is reduces the spots by killing off the germs. if the spots aren’t that bad I sometimes use a Superdrug own  brand tea tree spot stick.

After I’ve done something about the spots I then use my Garnier Moisture Match Goodbye Dry moisturiser (Superdrug £2.98) and put this on, this moisturiser is amazing I use it every night and sometime as a base before putting my make up on and it’s amazing, it dry’s very quickly, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy or oily, but it does make your skin soft. I sometimes get dry skin patches on my face but using this makes them disappear overnight. For the price of it it’s amazing I bought two of these and for the size of them they have lasted me since last summer and I only finished my first tube at the end of March and basically to end my skin routine I use either the baby lips intense care or hydrate so my lips don’t dry up over night.

So this is my Daily skin care routine I don’t really use a facial wash in the morning as I don’t have time unless it’s a weekend, but I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and I’ll post again soon,

Lush Haul

Saturday 19 April 2014

Ok so this is my first Haul I’ve decided to write about and at the moment my obsession is Lush, after deciding to purchase the Dragon egg bath bomb from Lush last Summer and finally I went back during the Christmas holidays and bought some more Lush stuff, and since I’ve been hooked. Now every time I go into town I find myself going straight to Lush to buy some new things. So over the last month I think I’ve finally collected enough Lush products to do a haul, so here are some of the things I bought.

Rose Queen (£2.75) I got this out of the Rosie gift set that Lush sell and I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect from it, from the looks of it I thought all it would do is turn the bath pink, but when it came to putting it in, there were actual flowers inside of the bath bomb. The bath was so amazing and relaxing, It left my skin feeling very soft and smelt of Roses. Unfortunately I couldn’t take a picture of it because I have already used it.

Immaculate Eggception Pink (£6.95), this was part of my Easter present off my mam and dad, I haven't actually used it yet but one of the workers showed me a demonstration of it and I'm really excited to use it. This bath bomb is defiantly the most expensive but you can get 3 baths out of it. You can split the shell off into two and then you get another mini bath bomb in the middle.

Fluffy Egg (£2.95) I once again got this in my Easter box and haven’t used it yet but this smells incredible, it’s so sweet I honestly could eat it that’s how sweet it smells I can't wait to actually try it.

Rose Jam (£3.50) for how much this costs you get so many uses out of it as you can see I split it into the two halves and just crumble a bit into my bath, I got this out of the Rosie gift set which cost £15 pound and I have got around 2 baths already and I still have plenty left. If you get this you're definitely going to get a lot of use out of it.

Bunch of Carrots (£5.95) These are amazing they smell incredible and are so easy to use, you just swirl them in the water under the tap and they create loads of bubbles. They leave your skin smelling incredible and soft like every other Lush product. But for the price you get three carrots and you get a load of use out of them.

Amandopondo (£2.75) since I got this I have used this so many times and I can say that it’s definitely one of my favourite bubble bars. You get a lot of bubbles out of it and a lot of uses out of it. They also smell amazing it’s got a relaxing smell that can make you feel very calm, which gives an relaxing atmosphere.

Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner (£15.95) first of all I didn’t pay the £15 for it I got it in the Rosie gift set and it’s only a small tub. I have used it once and it was just a tester and I’m still unsure whether I like it or not. I admit it smells really nice and it does leave your skin really soft but, when I used it, it kind of left my skin sticky for a while, maybe it didn’t wash off properly but I’m not keen on it.

Dragon’s Egg (£3.25) I got this a while ago and of course it’s been used, this was the first thing I bought from Lush and it’s one of my favourites, because it looks quite boring and plain, but it’s the complete opposite. It actually turns your bath orange it’s quite a cool one to watch as it spurts the orange out, bubbles and fizzes a lot but this one leaves your skin soft and it leaves you covered in a light shimmer of glitter.

Every single Lush product I have bought has had amazing results, the bath bombs always leave your skin smelling amazing and always leaves it soft and revived. The bubble bars do the same. Everything I have bought from Lush has always left my skin feeling soft and smelling amazing! The one product I do want to try is one of Lush’s skin care products; I would love to know how good they work.

So this was my Lush haul and review, I’ll hopefully post soon,

Shopping, Divergent and Nandos

Tuesday 15 April 2014

So yesterday I had a day out with my mum, which I haven't had in a long time and it was really nice to finally have a mother, daughter day it was very fun and relaxing and the weather great the sun was out and it was pretty warm out. Which is showing that it is actually spring! And I'm praying that the weather will pick up and stay hot and sunny longer especially for the summer.

So as the title suggests I did go shopping, I ended up going to Silverlink where there are a few shops at a retail park. I ended up going into Newlook, H&M, Boots and Next.  I ended up only buying things from H&M, Newlook and boots and I spent £18 oops!. It may not seem like I spent much but I spent £35 on Saturday when I went into town. Here some of the things I bought,

Newlook (£12.99) this tops is quite unique it’s mixed materials. The front is black and I'm not sure what the material is but it’s very light, whilst the back is grey and it’s a jersey material. It’s quite plain and simple but at the same time it’s quite smart but casual.

Boot’s- L'Oreal Paris Skin perfection purifying micellar solution (£3.33)  boots have a deal on this at the moment where you save 1/3 on selected L'Oreal Paris skincare so this should have originally been £4.99 so it’s a good deal and I actually tried this as soon as I got home and one thing I can say is I’m not going to be using make up wipes any more. This stuff feels so much gentler on the skin. It took me two make up pads to remove my entire make up but I didn't use much of the solution. I think I’m definitely going to have to get some more of this.

After killing  time in the shops and walking around it was finally time for us to go to the cinema where I got to see Divergent! I actually saw a trailer for this film when I went to see The Hunger Games Catching Fire and since then I have wanted to see it and I can definitely say it was just as good as the trailer makes it look. I even think it’s better than the Hunger Games. I mean the film does have that Hunger Games vibe to it, but I also think that it could be compared a little to The Host but that might just be my own opinion.

After the film (which was around 8pm) I was starving I didn't really eat much all day I had a small bowl of porridge in the morning and a Bagel for Lunch, and a small popcorn I was pretty hungry by 8pm, so I convinced my mum (more like flipped a coin) to go to Nandos. It was either this or Bella Italia so we flipped the coin and it landed on tails which was Nandos.

This was actually my first time at Nando’s so I went with the chicken breast fillet wrap and I had it medium spiced and it was amazing! I had a side of spicy rice on the side and of course I had to snap chat a picture of it and the restaurant  which is down below, but I was the perfect spice and perfect portion. The atmosphere in Nandos as well was just amazing it was so calm, but it was so happy and fun, the music was great and fitted well with the theme and I want to go back so badly it’s been less than a day and I'm having withdrawal problems.

(Sorry these photos were took off my iphone)

I eventually got home after a busy day and the first thing I did was take my makeup off and jumped straight in the shower and got into my PJ’s and since doing so I have sat in bed watching a bit of Buffy the vampire slayer, YouTube videos and doing nothing. But today has been an amazing day and I've loved the time  I spent with my mum since I never really get days together it was nice and I can't wait to have more days like this.

Six Form, College, University or Work?

Saturday 12 April 2014

So it’s that time of year where a lot of people are revising and about to do their exams in a few weeks including me, and the one thing I'm constantly being asked is what are your plans after you finish school? And in honesty I'm still not sure I don't know what kind of job I want. Do I want to be a journalist? A writer? Photographer? I have no idea and a lot of you are probably the same. Your probably being asked the exact same questions and you're being pressured in answering this question but in  you're just hoping to pass your final exams first and all I want to say is it’s ok not to know, there’s a lot of opportunities out there and it’s quite overwhelming.

You have so many opportunities do you go to six form? College? University? Or do you go straight out there and get an apprenticeships or a job? It’s confusing but all I’m going to say is do what’s best for you. If you're not ready to finish school go to a college or a six form and that gives you plenty of time to figure out what kind of job you want to do whilst widening your education variety.

I still don't know what I want to do after I finish and that’s about two months away. The only thing I have decided is that  I'm going to go to six form and I’m going to take English Language, English Literature and Photography (i'm still debating about photography) because English is my best subject and photography is a hobby that I want to learn about. Plus you never know it may just be something that I could get into after I finish school. I honestly don't know but I say it’s ok not to know we're still young and there’s plenty of time to figure it all out.

So don’t stress about something that’s still quite a while away, plus the more you think about it the more you’ll get worked up over it and that won't help you figure it out, there will be a day where you’ll figure out what you want to do but until that day comes just try to stay calm and focus on your exams and finishing school,

Emma
